1965 – Pottery

I didn’t start the classes with any great enthusiasm to be a potter, my object was to fill my time and make new friends. However, I became totally enthusiastic about working with clay. Particularly, stonewear clay and glazes.

This led to an eight year interest and during that time I had my own garden studio and kiln in the garage and exhibitions in the Gordon Gallery in Wimbledon Village. (see 1970 press article)

As a hobby there is little to touch the magic of clay, to create solid, tangible exciting work. My next phase of work was a venture into painting...

my first dabblings in painting...
